Guilford Student Art Exhibit Open through Dec. 9

The 30th annual Guilford Student Art Show is on display through Dec. 9 in the Founders Hall Gallery and Commons.

Prizes of $20 for first place and an honorable mention were awarded in each of eight categories, plus an Audience Choice Award. Approximately 60 works of art are on display, including drawing, painting, 2- and 3-D design, sculpture, printmaking, photography and ceramics. Winners are:

Sculpture – 1st Altaire Anderson, 2nd Justin Poe
Ceramics – 1st Tara Wright, 2nd Katie Maloney
Painting – 1st Emily Stamey, 2nd Ailey Greig
Photo – 1st Leah Netsky (2 Figures), 2nd Leah Netsky (Air)
Printmaking – 1st Lauren McClure, 2nd Altaire Anderson
2-D design – 1st Katie Maloney, 2nd Natalie Streiter
3-D design – 1st David Cason, 2nd Arthur Wood
Audience Choice – Justin Poe

The annual exhibit is open to all Guilford students, who could submit up to three works to be considered by the art faculty for inclusion.
