Guilford’s Malekoff Quoted on Penn State Scandal
The Christian Science Monitor’s online edition quoted Robert Malekoff, chair of the sports studies department at Guilford College, on the sex abuse scandal at Penn State University that led the trustees to fire football coaching legend Joe Paterno and president Graham Spanier Wednesday night.
The article, written by staff writer Ron Scherer, was headlined “Hindsight haunts Joe Paterno in Penn State scandal: ‘I wish I had done more’”
Malekoff was quoted as saying “If it had been immediately reported, at least they could say, ‘As soon as we found out about it, we put the health and welfare of the child at the forefront.’ That would have been a positive.”
