Guilford Student Art Exhibit Opens Thursday, Nov. 10

The 30th annual Guilford Student Art Exhibit will have its opening Thursday, Nov. 10, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Founders Hall Gallery and Commons.

Prizes will be awarded at 6:15 p.m. in each of eight categories, plus an Audience Choice Award. A reception will be held and the college community is invited to attend the celebration of Guilford’s creative spirit.

Approximately 60 works of art will be on display through Dec. 9, including drawing, painting, 2- and 3-D design, sculpture, printmaking, photography and ceramics.  The exhibit is open to all Guilford students, who may submit up to three works to be considered by the art faculty who select the work to be included.

Prizes are also awarded by the faculty – $20 for first place and an honorable mention in each of the categories above.  Attendees at the opening will vote for their favorite work, with the winner receiving the 2011 Audience Choice Award.
