15th Annual Soup Bowl Will Collect Food Items Through Sept. 2
For the 15th year, Guilford will collect cans and other nonperishable food items as part of the Soup Bowl, a friendly rivalry with nearby Greensboro College that culminates in the football game between the two schools Saturday, Sept. 3.
Donations can be left at marked boxes in several locations on campus, or can be brought to the Bonner House. The College will also accept donations of money. Off-campus, donations may be dropped off at Deep Roots Market, located at 3728 Spring Garden St.
This year’s game is at Jamieson Stadium at Grimsley High School (Greensboro College’s home field) on Sept. 3 at 1 p.m.
All proceeds will benefit Greensboro Urban Ministries.
Since 1997, Guilford and Greensboro College have collected over 40,000 pounds of food for local food banks.
For more information or to make a donation, contact Guilford’s Hunger Fellows Tinece Holman at holmantf@guilford.edu or Chelsey Wilson at wilsoncb@guilford.edu.
