Meredith Ward ’10 Receives Fulbright Scholarship to Germany

Meredith Ward ’10 was awarded a Fulbright U.S. Student Program scholarship to Germany in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, the U.S. Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board announced recently.

Ward will take part in the program from Sept. 1 through June 30, 2012, and will be based in two schools in the city of Saarbrücken, in the German state of Saarland.

At Guilford, she was a history and secondary education major with a minor in German.

Ward is one of more than 1,600 U.S. citizens who will travel abroad for the 2011-12 academic year through the Fulbright U.S. Student Program.

The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries.
