GuilfordNet and Website Tips Offered for Faculty, Staff and Students

GuilfordNet (intranet) and the College’s website are important online communication tools for faculty, staff and students.

GuilfordNet serves every-day needs of people on campus. Please familiarize yourself with GuilfordNet, which is password-protected (use your Guilford user name and password to access it). The website was redesigned to appeal to an external audience including future students.

A GuilfordNet and website FAQ is available. Here are a few tips for using GuilfordNet and finding important content on the intranet or website:

Academic Calendar: The academic calendar is available on the GuilfordNet home page (full calendar under “Today at Guilford”) and as a link on the Academics landing page on the website.

Beacon: The Beacon, Guilford’s weekly e-newsletter for faculty, staff and students, is available on the news and events page off the website home page and is delivered by email every Friday. This fall, the Beacon is being redesigned.

Buzz: Faculty, staff and student announcements from the Buzz appear on the left side of the GuilfordNet home page. There is a link to The Buzz for submissions and more information at the top of every GuilfordNet page. The Buzz is delivered by email daily.

Course-related Content: Find course-related content in the archive of the old website at http://www2.guilford.edu. This archive is temporary until departmental content is migrated to Moodle or the new website.

Email: Point your browser to mail.guilford.edu or find the link on the footer of every page of GuilfordNet.

Library Hours: The hours of opening for Hege Library are on the library page, which may be accessed from the footer of every page on GuilfordNet.

Moodle: Point your browser to moodle.guilford.edu or find the link on the footer of every page on GuilfordNet.

Registration: Registration for classes is still through Banner Web, which can be accessed from a link on the footer of every page on GuilfordNet. More information is available on the Registrar’s Page in the Academic section of GuilfordNet and the website.

Site Map: An expandable, interactive site map in the quick links in the lower right corner of each website page can be used to navigate throughout the website.

If you have questions or concerns about website usage, contact Aimee White at webcomm@guilford.edu. Response time will be as rapid as possible and will depend on the volume of inquiries.
