No. 1-Ranked Men’s Golf Team Headed to NCAAs as ODAC Champs

Guilford captured its 11th Old Dominion Athletic Conference men’s golf title April 19 in Cape Charles, Va., securing an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship that will be played in Greensboro May 10-13.

The Quakers shot 897, finishing 13 strokes ahead of Bridgewater College. ODAC Player of the Year Noah Ratner ’13 finished second individually at 218, two strokes behind medalist Mike Redwood of Bridgewater. Mat Hennick ‘12 placed third at 220.

Ratner received Guilford’s ninth Player of the Year Award. Alex Wise ‘14 was named ODAC Rookie of the Year and Corey Maggard received the ODAC Coach of the Year Award, recently named for former coach Jack Jensen.

The Quakers are ranked No. 1 nationally entering their 17th NCAA Division III Championship. They were runners-up last year. Guilford and the Greensboro Sports Commission are co-hosting this year’s event at Grandover Resort.
