Cross Country Round-up: NCAA Southeast Regional
November 10 - The Guilford College cross country teams concluded their seasons at the NCAA South/Southeast Region Championships in Williamsburg, Virginia. While the course proved slower than expected, many Quakers still ran some of their fastest times of the season.
The women were led by Grace Normann and Charissa Duncan, who finished within 10 seconds of each other. Caroline Gadsby placed third, followed by Paige McCall, Emily Frenzel, and Rachel Dede. The women's team ran without Carolyn Herlehy and Johanna Naradzay, who were both unable to compete due to illness. The loss of these two runners significantly affected the team score and, consequently, the team did not place as high as expected.
The men's team was led by Jeremy Bante. The next three runners, Jeremy Wang, Chris Walker, and Leon Odell all finished within 30 seconds of each other, giving the Quakers a 56-second gap between the team's first and fourth runners. Marc Ramsay, Brett McDonough, and Nico de la Vega-Billingsley completed the Quakers' squad.
