Women's Cross Country Release (2004) - Preseason Poll - Guilford College
GUILFORD RATED IN ODAC CROSS COUNTRY POLLS
Greensboro, NC (08/27/04) -- There's
no where to go but up for Guilford's first-year men's and women's cross
country teams. The Old Dominion
Athletic Conference (ODAC) men's and women's cross country coaches placed
the Quakers at the bottom of both polls, the league announced Friday.
Defending champions Roanoke and Lynchburg received the top spots in
the men's and women's polls, respectively.
Cross country makes its NCAA Division III debut
in 2004 under the direction of first-year head coach Scott Smith.
The Quakers have fielded intercollegiate cross country teams in the
past, but not in its 13 years of NCAA membership.
Guilford opens the season September 11 in an invitational meet hosted
by league-rival Washington and Lee.
