Linnea SabyGuilford placed 24th among 27 teams at the NCAA Division III South/Southeast Regional Championships Nov,. 14 on the Quakers' Meadows Course. Sophomore Tessy Omina paced the Quakers with a six-kilometer time of 27:11 that placed 92nd individually. Click here for the full release and results.

Guilford will start a track and field team that will compete in both indoor and outdoor seasons beginning in 2009-10. Assistant cross country coach Bill Cason has been named the director of Guilford's track and field program. Head cross-country coach Heidi Pinkerton, a former UNC Greensboro track and cross country standout, will serve as the Quakers' assistant track and field coach.

Guilford's first indoor meet is Dec. 5 at Christopher Newport University's Holiday Open.
