Guilford Scores Five in Second Half to Defeat N.C. Wesleyan, 5-1

GREENSBORO, N.C. (9/30/09) -- Lizette Acevedo exploded for the first three goals
of her college career midway through the second half to lift Guilford
College to a 5-1 soccer win over visiting North Carolina Wesleyan
College Wednesday night.
Acevedo helped Guilford post their highest scoring output of the
season and improve to 3-7 on the year. The Battling Bishops drop to
3-5.
Aubrey Bonorden's unassisted tally in the 17th minute gave North
Carolina Wesleyan a 1-0 lead that stood at halftime.
Ashley Anderson scored off a Lily Wotkyns assist eight minutes into the
second half, which tied the match a 1-1. Acevedo broke the tie with
the first of her three straight unassisted scores within a 15-minute
span. Wotkins closed out the scoring in the 87th minute with her first
college goal.
Guilford is back in action Saturday afternoon versus visiting
Bridgewater College at 4:00 p.m.
