Women's Soccer Falls At Methodist in Double OT
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (9/16/09) -- Danielle Minichello's goal with two seconds left in
the second overtime period gave Methodist University a 2-1 soccer victory
over visiting Guilford College Wednesday afternoon. Erica Nath's pass
through the Quakers' defense found Minichello, who beat Guilford goalie Kat
Adams to the left side in the 110th minute.
The Monarchs improve to 2-4 with the nonconference win, while Guilford
drops to 1-5.
Minichello assisted on Methodist's first goal, a Whitney Roberson tally in
the fourth minute. Guilford tied the game midway through the second half on
an unassisted goal by Marina Schachowskoj.
The Quakers resume Old Dominion Athletic Conference play Saturday afternoon
versus visiting Eastern Mennonite University at 2:00 p.m.
