GUILFORD TAKES 9-0 WOMEN'S SOCCER WIN AT HOLLINS
Roanoke, VA (10/22/05) -- Jennah Carter scored two goals and an assist to
lift visiting Guilford to a 9-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference women's soccer
win over Hollins Saturday. Seniors Heather Ruggiero and Trina Scurka
also scored twice in the Quakers (10-5-2, 6-4 ODAC) third straight shutout
victory in the conference.
Carter's team-leading 17 goals rank fifth
in Guilford history. She raised her point total on the season to 38, also a team
best, and the seventh-best single-season total in Guilford history.
Veronica Zych went the distance in goal
and made four saves for her first shutout of the season.
The Quakers are back in action Sunday (10/23) at
league-rival Randolph-Macon Woman's College.
