THREE GUILFORD WOMEN'S SOCCER EARN ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS

Greensboro, NC (11/09/04) -- Senior Kimberly Mullen (Massapequa Park, NY/Maasapequa (Nassau CC)) and junior Chelsea Glover (Durham, NC/Jordan) earned Second Team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) honors Monday according to a vote of the league's 12 head coaches.  Sophomore forward Jennifer Mundy (Murrells Inlet, SC/Waccamaw) received honorable mention laurels.

A midfielder, Mullen earned second-team all-league honors for the third straight season.  She finished 2004 second on the team in goals and points with seven goals and three assists for 17 points.  Mullen scored or assisted on goals in five games this year, had three game-winning goals, and two multiple-goal games against Hollins and Bridgewater.   She also stands in second place on Guilford's all time career scoring list with 98 points on 41 goals and 16 assists.

Glover, another midfielder, contributed two goals and two assists on the season, but was a much bigger influence controlling play in the midfield and dictating the pace of the game.  Her ability to transition the ball to the forwards made her a valuable asset to the Quakers in 2004.

Mundy, a forward, received all-league honors for the second straight season.  In 2003 she was a second-team All-ODAC selection.  Battling through injuries in 2004, she posted six goals and two assists, for 14 points in 20 matches.  Mundy scored two game-winning goals this season, and had a two-goal match against Emory and Henry.

The trio helped the Quakers to a record-setting year. Third-year head coach Eric Lewis guided the team to a 12-8-2 record, 7-2-2 in the ODAC.  The 12 wins broke the previous standard matched in 2003.  Guilford also set a new school record with a 13-match unbeaten streak and a nine-match winning streak.  The Quakers advanced to the ODAC tournament semifinals for the first time in the program's history, and expect 20 letter winners back in 2005.
