GUILFORD RANKED IN PRESEASON ODAC SOCCER POLL

Salem, VA (8/20/03) -- Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women's soccer coaches picked Guilford eighth in their 2003 preseason poll, the league announced Wednesday.

Under the direction of second-year coach Eric Lewis, Guilford boasts the ODAC's top scorer in 2002, junior forward Kimberly Mullen (Massapequa Park, NY/Massapequa (Nassau CC)). A second-team All-ODAC pick, Mullen matched Guilford's school record with 55 points on 22 goals and 11 assists in 2002. The Quakers return 11 letter winners from last year's 9-10-2 unit (4-6-1 ODAC), including three of the team's top-four scorers and starting goalie Danielle Brisotti (Island Park, NY/West Hempstead).

Guilford's women meet Greensboro in their 2003 season opener August 30 in Rocky Mount, NC, as part of a two-day tournament hosted by North Carolina Wesleyan.
