GUILFORD'S BAROLET-FOGARTY NAMED ODAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Greensboro, NC (10/27/03) -- Guilford senior Megan Barolet-Fogarty (Gainesville, FL/Eastside) received the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's (ODAC) Women's Soccer Player of the Week Award, the league announced Monday. Barolet-Fogarty, a first-time winner, joins Jennifer Mundy as Guilford's two ODAC Players of the Week this year.
Barolet-Fogarty,
a center midfielder, scored a goal and four assists for six points in the
Quakers' 2-1 week. She netted her career-best seventh goal and added an assist
in Guilford's 7-0 win at ODAC-rival Hollins October 24. A day later she picked
up a personal-high three assists in her final home match, a 7-0 triumph over
Averett. Her three assists rank third on Guilford's single-match list and give
her a career-high 23 points this year, Guilford's third-best total. She leads
the ODAC with a career-high nine helpers (0.47 assists per game). Barolet-Fogarty
climbed into fourth place on Guilford's career assists list (20) and into
fifth among the school's career scoring leaders (52).
Coach Eric Lewis' Quakers (11-8, 7-4 ODAC) matched the school record for overall wins in a season and set the standard for ODAC triumphs. They earned the fifth seed for this weekend's ODAC Tournament and will play at fourth-seeded Eastern Mennonite when the pairings are announced later this week.
