Senior Abelin participated in Guilford's commencement exercises May 9. She is pictured here with head coach Matthew Grosso and graduated with honors and departmental honors in biology and chemistry.

Abelin earned Second Team All-Chesapeake Region recognition from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association May 21. Click here for the full release.

Abelin earned 2009 First Team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) recognition according to a vote of the league's head women's lacrosse coaches. Teammates Carrie Ernst and Shelly Nogueira took home Second Team All-ODAC honors. Click here for the full release.

Abelin also captured the Quaker Club's Ideal Student-Athlete Award Apr. 26 as Guilford honored its top student-athletes at a year-end ceremony in the Ragan-Brown Field House. Six award winners nominated and selected by the school's athletic department were recognized at the ceremony. Former Guilford basketball standout Adonis "Sporty" Jeralds '81 addressed the group. Guilford concluded the 2009 campaign with a 6-11 overall record, 3-5 in the ODAC. Grosso could return as many as 17 letter winners in 2010.
