Guilford Tabbed Seventh in Preseason ODAC Poll

Salem, Va. (11/8/07) -- Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women's basketball coaches picked Guilford College seventh in their preseason poll, the league announced Thursday at its annual Media Day at the Salem Civic Center. Randolph-Macon College, the defending conference champion, tops the poll for the fifth straight season with seven first-place votes. Last year's ODAC Tournament runner-up, Virginia Wesleyan College, is picked second.

Fifth-year head coach Stephanie Flamini welcomes back nine letter winners, including five starters, from last year's 10-16 squad that finished seventh in the ODAC. Junior forward Tracey Croner returns for the Quakers after being selected to the All-ODAC second team in 2007. She ranked ninth among league leaders in field-goal percentage (.475) and second in free-throw percentage (.902). Croner stood first on the team in points (13.2 ppg) and finished third on the team in rebounds (3.7 rpg).

The Quakers play their season-opener November 16 in Ragan-Brown Field House against Averett University at 8 p.m.
