Volleyball Drops ODAC Opener at Roanoke, 3-0
SALEM, Va. (9-16-09) - Roanoke College downed visiting Guilford College, 3-0, in the
Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opener for both teams Wednesday
night. The Maroons (7-4, 1-0 ODAC) prevailed in straight sets, 25-19,
25-21, 26-24.
Guilford's Anna Miller and Courtney Kozar shared team-high honors with
eight kills apiece. Laura Kopald added six putaways and Taylor Phillips
distributed 16 assists.
The Quakers (5-6, 0-1 ODAC) are back in action Sunday (9/20) at 1:00 p.m.
versus league-rival Randolph-Macon College. The Yellow Jackets beat
Guilford, 3-0, last Saturday at the Greensboro College Volleyball
Tournament in the first 2009 meeting between the teams.
