Volleyball Release (2004) - Guilford Ends five game slide - Guilford College

Raleigh, NC (10/19/04) -- Guilford College's volleyball team defeated Peace in a nonconference match Tuesday night, 3-2, to end a season-high five-game losing skid. The scores of the match were: 30-17, 17-30, 30-28, 27-30, 15-9. Guilford improves to 8-18 with the victory, while Peace drops to 9-18. The win salvages a split of the season series between the two schools.

Guilford senior Mackenzie Parsio led the Quakers in kills for the 20th straight match with 27 putaways. She also added seven digs and four total blocks. Junior teammate Mandy Myers contributed 18 kills and five blocks to the win.

Guilford freshman Jessica Chapman recorded 45 assists. Rookie Nancy Meador paced the defense with a career-high 24 digs, while senior Rhonda Rogers added 20 pickups.

Guilford plays its final regular-season home match this Thursday night (10/21) against Old Dominion Athletic Conference rival Randolph-Macon at 7:00 p.m.
