GUILFORD VOLLEYBALL RANKED IN PRESEASON ODAC POLL
Greensboro, NC (08/23/02) -- Guilford's volleyball team was picked eighth in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) preseason poll announced Friday. The league's head coaches awarded defending league champion Washington and Lee the spot.
The Quakers, under 11th-year coach Chuck McCracken, return 10 letter winners from last season's 4-27 squad. Guilford had a conference record of 2-8 and finished tied for fifth at the ODAC Tournament. Senior outside hitter Jennifer Pue-Gilchrist (Garner, NC/Leesville Road), who earned a place on the 2001 first team All-ODAC volleyball squad, led the Quakers last season in kills (385), digs (382) and aces (76). She also set school records in aces and career digs (1199).
Guilford opens the 2002 season August 30-31 in a tournament hosted by Averett in Danville, VA.
