Head coach Dennis Shores is pictured from left to right with seniors Kelly Guarnieri, Kelly Hale and Taryn Pulvermuller. The trio participated in Guilford's commencement exercises May 9. Guarnieri graduated with honors in mathematics. Hale graduated with honors in health sciences and psychology. Pulvermuller earned a degree in criminal justice and forensic biology.
Hale earned Second Team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III softball honors May 7 from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Click here for the full release.
Sophomore Ami Hutcherson earned First Team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) softball recognition according to a vote of the league's head coaches May 1. Freshman teammate Kimberly Keys received Second Team All-ODAC honors and Hale was named honorable mention. Click here for the full release.
Guilford wrapped up its most successful season in school history Apr. 25 with a 6-5 loss in eight innings to Virginia Wesleyan in the ODAC Tournament. Hale and teammate Morgan Andrews represented Guilford on the ODAC All-Tournament team.
Guilford finished the year with a school-record 26-13 record (13-5 ODAC). Shores may return as many as 15 letter winners for the 2010 campaign.
