PARSIO AND FERACI CLAIM ODAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS
Greensboro, NC - Guilford seniors Matt Feraci (Midlothian, VA/Midlothian) and Mackenzie Parsio (Galena, OH/Big Walnut) received the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's (ODAC) Men's Soccer and Volleyball Player of the Week awards, respectively, for the week of September 13, the league announced Monday.
A
5-11, 190-pound forward, Feraci tallied five goals during the
Guilford's 1-0-2 week, including two goals and an assist in the Quakers'
victory against Ferrum September 15. His five-point effort marked his best
performance of the season. Feraci also scored twice to rally the
Quakers to a 2-2 tie with league-foe Virginia Wesleyan September 18. He
leads the team with nine goals and two assists for 20 points and has scored
in six of seven matches. His nine goals rank 11th on Guilford's
single-season list.
Coach Liam Behrens' Quakers (2-3-2, 0-0-2 ODAC) return to action September 23 at home against Averett at 4:00 p.m.
Against
Hollins September 18, Parsio had a match- and career-high 23 kills
and five blocks, which helped Guilford to a 3-1 league victory. Earlier in
the day against Eastern Mennonite, the 5-8 hitter led the Quakers with 17
kills and had a career-high nine digs. She has led the team in kills in nine
of 11 matches and tops the club in kills (123). The team captain has seven
contests with at least 10 putaways.
Parsio will help Coach Glenda Dellinger's Quakers (4-7, 2-1 ODAC) in their September 21 home opener against Peace at 7:00 p.m.
