GUILFORD ANNOUNCES NEWEST ATHLETICS HALL OF
FAME CLASS
Greensboro, NC (01/13/04) -- Guilford College Athletic Director Marion Kirby announced the 33rd class inducted into the Guilford College Athletics Hall of Fame Tuesday. Chris Haarlow '91, Don Lineberry '62, Johnny Moore '77, Steve Musulin '76, Stan Smith '76, and Cintonya Allison Somerville '88 will be honored at a banquet Saturday, January 24 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sternberger Auditorium on Guilford's campus. WFMY-TV Sports Director Greg Kerr will serve as the event's master of ceremonies.
The banquet is open to the public. Tickets cost $20.00 and can be purchased through Guilford's Athletic Department through this Friday, January 16. Call 336-316-2190 for tickets and more information.
Haarlow and Lineberry reside in Greensboro, while Smith lives in Kernersville. Somerville is a resident of Germantown, MD, and graduated from Greensboro's Dudley High School.
The group will also be recognized at halftime of Guilford's women's basketball game with Hollins that begins at 2:00 p.m. This year's class raises Guilford's Athletics Hall of Fame membership to 187. Past inductees include NBA stars M.L. Carr '73 and World B. Free '76, major-league baseball players Ernie Shore '13, Rick Ferrell '28 and Tom Zachary '18.
