Men's Soccer Drops 1-0 Decision to Maryville
Greensboro, N.C. (9/24/06) -- Zak Peterson's unassisted blast from 20 yards out in the 12th minute gave visiting Maryville a 1-0 win over Guilford Sunday in a nonconference soccer match. Guilford (2-5-1) outshot the Scots (4-3), 10-7, but could not get a ball past Maryville goalie Jarred Cooper, who made four saves.
The testy affair featured one red card, nine yellow cards and 34 fouls between the two teams. Guilford's Neil Meguid was ejected at the end of the game after receiving his second yellow card of the match.
Guilford's Zane Campbell made two saves in goal for the Quakers.
