Guilford Downs Ferrum, 5-1, in Men's Soccer
Lynchburg, Va. (9/9/06) -- Joe Rigert scored a career-high six points with two goals and two assists in Guilford's 5-1 men's soccer win over Ferrum Saturday night in the Shellenberger Classic hosted by Lynchburg College. Scott Meguid also tallied a personal-best two goals for Guilford, who won for the first time under first-year head coach Jeff Bateson. Tim Berke netted the Quakers' fifth goal and senior goalie Zane Campbell made six saves in goal.
Guilford plays Mountain State Sunday evening at 5:00 p.m. on the Classic's final day.
