Lexington, VA (10/9/05) -- Rhett McCraw's unassisted goal 8:41 into
overtime lifted host Washington and Lee to a 2-1 Old Dominion Athletic
Conference men's soccer win over Guilford Sunday. The Generals (5-4-1, 3-1-1
ODAC) rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit for the win. Guilford (4-5-3, 0-4
ODAC) fell in extra time for the second consecutive match and dropped to 0-2-1
in its last three matches.
After Guilford's Scott Meguid put the
Quakers on the board with 2:21 left in the first half, the Generals forced the
extra time on Jack Palmer's tally at the 80:28 mark.
Ted Sheedy played the final 53:41 in goal and
made two of the Generals' three saves in goal. Guilford's Zane Campbell
made seven stops between the pipes. Washington and Lee outshot the Quakers,
18-7.
Guilford is back in action Wednesday (10/12) at
