GUILFORD DEFEATS WASHINGTON AND LEE TO ADVANCE TO ODAC SEMIFINALS
Greensboro, NC (10/30/04) -- Senior Forward Matt Feraci
scored his team-leading 18th and 19th goals of the season in the span of
two minutes in the second half as Guilford College extended their 1-0
halftime advantage and overpowered Washington and Lee in an Old Dominion
Athletic Conference (ODAC) quarterfinal match Saturday.
The win sends
the #3-seeded Quakers (9-3-4) into an ODAC semifinal game to meet seventh-seeded Lynchburg,
which upset number-two Virginia Wesleyan Saturday night. The loss ends
the Generals' season at 6-7-3.
Guilford
freshman forward Greg Haver started the scoring for the Quakers
in the 27th minute of the first half beating the goalkeeper to the right
post off of a feed from freshman midfielder Clarke Seniff.
Sophomore goalkeeper Zane Campbell went the distance in the goal for
Guilford recording a single save during the game.
Guilford will play Lynchburg on Friday, November 5 in the ODAC Semi-finals, at 11:30 a.m. in Roanoke.
