GUILFORD RANKED IN PRESEASON ODAC SOCCER POLLS
Salem, VA (8/20/03) -- Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men's soccer coaches picked Guilford fourth their 2003 preseason poll, the league announced Tuesday. The Quakers received their highest rating since joining the league in 1991.
Coach Liam Behrens' men are coming off an 11-6-2 campaign (5-3-1 ODAC) that ended in the ODAC Tournament semifinals for the first time in school history. Senior forward Tim Imafidon (Raleigh, NC/Wake Forest-Rolesville), a two-time All-South player and the Quakers' three-time defending scoring leader, enters his senior season ranked second on Guilford's career scoring list with 67 points in 54 matches. Classmate T.J. Muse (Reidsville, NC/Southeast Guilford) anchors an experienced defense that returns three starters from the 2002 club, which yielded the program's fewest goals (27) since 1987.
Guilford opens the 2003 season August 30 at Maryville (TN).
