  • GUILFORD'S IMAFIDON TAKES WEEKLY ODAC HONOR

Greensboro, NC -- Senior forward Tim Imafidon (Raleigh, NC/Wake Forest-Rolesville) received the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's (ODAC) Men's Soccer Player of the Week Award for the week of September 15. Imafidon, a first-time honoree, is Guilford's first 2003 recipient of the league's weekly prize.

A 6-2, 215-pound forward, Imafidon scored three goals and an assist for a career-high seven points in Guilford's 5-1 win over visiting Warren Wilson September 15. He notched a natural hat trick in the second half to help the Quakers overcome a 1-0 halftime deficit. The Warren Wilson match was Guilford's only contest of the week due to the postponement of its scheduled September 20 match at Virginia Wesleyan.

Imafidon's first points of the season moved him into first place among the team's scoring leaders. They also helped him to second place on Guilford's career goal-scoring list (32). The senior also ranks second in career scoring with 75 points (32 goals, 10 assists) in 57 matches. Imafidon is a two-time all-region selection and a three-time All-ODAC pick.

Coach Liam Behrens' Quakers (2-2, 0-0 ODAC) open their league schedule Wednesday (9/24) against Roanoke at 4:00 pm. The Maroons are ranked 24th in this week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas Division III national poll.
