Guilford College's Tyler Harrison Lands Men's Lacrosse Honor
Greensboro, N.C. (5/9/07) -- Guilford College's Tyler Harrison earned honorable mention All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men's lacrosse recognition Wednesday. The league's seven head coaches voted on the all-conference teams at the their annual meeting Tuesday in Charlottesville, Va. Harrison was the lone Guilford student honored.
A 6-0, 180-pound junior defenseman, Harrison started all 13 games and led the Quakers with 15 caused turnovers. He ranked second on the team with 38 ground balls and contributed two goals on offense, tops among the club's defenders. Harrison picked up four ground balls in six different games and twice caused three turnovers. He scored once and had four pickups in the Quakers' Mar. 10 setback to visiting Kean University and repeated the effort three games later in Guilford's Mar. 25 victory over Oberlin College. Harrison enters his senior season with seven points (6 goals, 1 assist), 108 ground balls and 48 caused turnovers in 40 career games.
Third-year head coach Andy Rowe's Quakers finished with a 3-10 overall record, 0-6 in the ODAC. Rowe expects 27 letter winners, including Harrison, back for the 2008 season.
