The win snaps Guilford's two-game losing streak and improves the Quakers' record to 2-3. Maritime falls to 1-2.

Freshman midfielder Devin Swanson scored both of his goals in the first quarter and helped the Quakers to a 4-1 lead after one period. His second tally triggered a 7-0 Guilford run that featured goals by six different student-athletes, including both of senior midfielder Bryan Borchard's tallies. The Quakers enjoyed a 7-1 halftime edge.

The Privateers scored five times in a two-minute, 50-second span late in the third quarter and into the fourth to make it a 10-6 game. Guilford settled the tempo with sophomore attackman's Todd Bochenek's second score of the day with 10:58 minutes left in the game. Maritime junior midfielder Keith Bilotta tallied two minutes later to provide the game's final margin.

Borchard led Guilford's offense with two goals and two assists for a season-high four points.  Bochenek finished with two goals and one assist. Swanson also scored twice and freshman attackman Matt Conrad added two points with a goal and an assist. Sophomore Andrew Vigne played all but two minutes in goal and made 12 saves and nine ground balls.
