Men's Lacrosse Release (2006) - Guilford's Bochenek Earns Lacrosse Honor - Guilford College

  • GUILFORD'S BOCHENEK EARNS LACROSSE HONOR

Greensboro, NC (5/18/06) -- Old Dominion Athletic Conference men's lacrosse coaches tabbed Guilford College's Todd Bochenek as an honorable mention All-ODAC selection at their annual coaches meeting.

Bochenek, an attackman, led the Quakers with a career-high 38 points on a team-best 14 goals and 24 assists. The sophomore ranks third among ODAC assists per game leaders (1.71) and ninth in points per game (2.71). He had four games with at least four assists and five points, tops on the team.

Bochenek paced Guilford's scorers in nine games, including a career-high nine-point showing in the Quakers' 13-12 win over league-rival Randolph-Macon. The triumph marked Guilford's first over the Yellow Jackets since 1992. He had a hand in seven of the Quakers' final eight goals in the game and scored the eventual winning tally with 6:45 remaining in the game. His six assists represent the fourth-highest single-game total in school history and his nine points rank 11th. The effort earned Bochenek Guilford's Student-Athlete of the Week Award for the week ending March 16.

Coach Andrew Rowe's Quakers logged a 4-10 record in 2006, 1-5 in the ODAC. Bochenek is one of 27 letter winners due back in 2007.
