Men's Lacrosse Release (03-04) - Game 5 - Guilford College

Greensboro, NC (03/20/04) -- Senior attackman James Skiff (Portland, ME/Northfield-Mt. Hermon (MA)) totaled four goals and three assists in visiting Trinity's 19-2 men's lacrosse win over Guilford Saturday at the Armfield Athletic Center. The Bantams (3-0) extend their season-opening winning streak to three, while Guilford falls to 3-2.

Trinity jumped out to an 11-0 lead before Guilford's Tucker Jacobs (West Lebanon, NH/Lebanon) got the Quakers on the scoreboard off of one of Josh Miller's (Princeton, NJ/Princeton) two assists. The Bantams held a 12-2 halftime lead. Junior midfielder Jake Dore (Manchester, MA/Middlesex) tallied all three of his goals in the first half, while Skiff collected two goals and two assists.

The Bantams held Guilford scoreless over the game's final 30 minutes. Freshman goaltender Carter Erwin (Baltimore, MD) made a team-high eight stops in the fourth quarter. Sophomore Jakob Isbrandsten (Greenwich, CT/Greenwich) stopped both shots he saw in the third period. Senior Geoffrey Shaw (Charlotte, NC/Charlotte Country) made seven saves before his family and friends who made the short trip up from Charlotte to see him play.

Twelve different players tickled the twine for Trinity. Freshman Curtis Kahn (Cohasset, MA) and senior attackman David Huoppi (Pomfret, CT/Milton Academy (MA)) each tallied twice. Junior attackman Wells Winfrey (Washington, DC/Hotchkiss (CT)) added a goal and two assists.

Guilford returns to action Wednesday (3/24) against cross-town rival Greensboro at 3:30 p.m. on Guilford's Armfield Athletic Center field. Trinity visits Springfield Wednesday (3/24) at 4:00 pm.
