WASHINGTON, PA -- Junior midfielder Won Hill (Catonsville, MD/Catonsville) and sophomore attacker Matt Wagner (Mill Valley, CA/Marin Catholic) both scored five goals as Guilford ran out to a 6-0 first-quarter lead and cruised to a 16-6 victory over Washington & Jefferson in men's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon at Cameron Stadium.

The Quakers (2-9) took a 3-0 lead in the first six minutes on goals by sophomore midfielder Ed Massello (Roanoke, VA/Roanoke Catholic), freshman midfielder Kyle Brebner (Woodbridge, VA/Gar-Field) and Wagner. Hill then buried a pair of goals to up the lead to 5-0 and junior attacker Josh Miller (Princeton, NJ/Princeton) found the back of the net with 12 seconds left in the first quarter to give GC a six-goal cushion.

W&J junior attacker Phil Johnson (Washington, PA/Trinity) scored two goals and sophomore midfielder Mike Prushnok (Punxsutawney, PA/Punxsutawney) added another in the first seven minutes of the second period to slice the Guilford lead in half, but Hill ended the rally with a goal at the 7:22 mark. The teams traded goals over the final four minutes as the Quakers held an 8-5 halftime advantage. Wagner scored all four Quaker goals in the third quarter, while sophomore goalie Aaron Skiles (Weirton, WV/Shattuck St. Mary's) held the Presidents to just one second-half goal as Guilford breezed to the 10-goal triumph.

Miller totaled six points for the Quakers with two goals and four assists, while junior attacker Chip Hill (Sellersville, PA/Sellersville) also dished out four assists. Skiles notched six saves.

Johnson led the President effort with three goals. Sophomore midfielder Travis Longacre (Latrobe, PA/Latrobe) and freshman attacker Matt Kozera (Towson, MD/Boys Latin School) scored one goal each. Freshman midfielder Jeff Ford (Glastonbury, CT/Glastonbury) assisted on two W&J goals, while sophomore goalkeeper Doug DiGiovanni (Washington, PA/Trinity) amassed 13 saves in the loss.
