Head Coach Andrew Rowe - Podcast
Andy Rowe begins his sixth season as the Quakers' head coach. He came to Guilford as an assistant men's lacrosse coach in 2003 and took over as interim head coach in 2005 after his predecessor resigned in January of that year. He lost the interim tag in May 2005 after guiding the Quakers to a 5-8 record that included the club's first Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win in 12 years.
Rowe graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in May 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in government and politics. A two-time United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) honorable mention All-America pick, he helped the Battling Bishops to a 45-14 record in his four seasons and led the midfielders in scoring his last three years. His teams won three North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) titles and reached the NCAA Division III playoffs in 2000 and 2003.
Rowe played in the 2003 STX/USILA North-South All-Star Game, netting a goal for the winning South side. He earned First Team All-NCAC honors in 2002 and 2003 and concluded his career with 100 goals and 24 assists. Rowe tied Ohio Wesleyan’s record for goals in a game with a seven-goal outburst in the Bishops’ win over Stevens Institute of Technology in 2003. He had a career-high 44 goals and eight helpers for a personal-best 52 points as a junior.
A St. Louis, Mo., native, Rowe graduated from Penfield (N.Y.) High School in 1999.
Zach Clark comes to Guilford from Stevenson University where he spent 2009 as a defensive and recruiting assistant for coach Paul Cantabene's Mustangs. Stevenson, formerly Villa Julie College, went 17-2 and was ranked first in the final 2009 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Coaches' Poll. The Mustangs produced six All-Americans last spring and made their first trip to the NCAA Division III semifinals. A 2008 Stevenson graduate, Clark started four seasons on defense and captained the team as a senior. He won Stevenson's Defensive Most Valuable Player Award as a junior and graduated with school records for games played and started. A dean's list student, Clark earned his degree in paralegal studies. He starred scholastically at Chesapeake (Md.) High School where he was a four-year starter and an All-Anne Arundel County defender.
