      SALEM, VA (2/19/05) -- Guilford 's Genaro Lawhorn was one of five Quakers in double figures as GC downed Bridgewater 85-62 in the quarterfinals of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament Friday night.

 

      Lawhorn was joined by Ben Strong (13 points), Thomas Burge (11 points), Caleb Kimbrough (11 points) and Eric Belkoski (10 points) in double figure scoring. 

 

      The Quakers shot just 36.8 percent from the floor in the first half but connected on 5-11 shots from behind the arc to earn a 35-21 lead at intermission.

 

      Guilford opened the second-half with an 8-1 run that ran its lead  to 21 when Lawhorn hit a lay up with 17:30 left.

 

      Guilford , who hit 22-28 free-throw attempts and 7-15 three pointers, extended its lead to 25 points during the second twenty minutes of play.

 

      Ricky Easterling led the Eagles in scoring with 14 points.  Josh Maupin added 12 points, while Clay Michael pulled down a game high 11 rebounds in the loss.

 

      Guilford will take on Virginia Wesleyan in the second semifinal at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
