Guilford Golfers Hold Sixth Place At Davidson Invitational

First and Second Round Results

(10/12/09) -- Guilford College's Noah Ratner shot 73-75-148 to help the Quakers to sixth place after Monday's first 36 holes of the 12-team Davidson College Invitational at the River Run Country Club. The Quakers shot 308-304-612 and sit four strokes behind fifth-place Radford University (302-306-608).  Liberty University owns a two-stroke lead over Wofford College after shooting 591 in rainy and chilly conditions Monday.  

Wofford's Garrett Medeiros leads the 63-man field after 36 holes after shooting matching two-under-par rounds of 70 Monday. He has a six-stroke lead over Liberty's Max McKay (71-75-146) and a seven-shot edge over Elon University's Jayson Judy (74-73-147). Guilford's Ratner sits in a three-way tie for fourth place.  

Guilford's Peter Latimer shot 74-77-151 Monday and is in a share for 12th place among individuals. Teammate Brian Creghan bounced back from an opening-round 81 with a 74 in Monday's second round to move into 34th place at 155.  

Play concludes Tuesday with 18 holes.
