Men's Golf Releases (2005-06) - Greensboro Invitational - Guilford College

  • HUNTINGDON LEADS GREENSBORO COLLEGE INVITATIONAL

  • Three Tied For First Heading to Tuesday's Final Round

 

      Winston-Salem, NC (10/10/05) -- Huntingdon College has a three shot lead and three individuals are tied for first heading to Tuesday's second and final day of the Greensboro College Invitational at the Meadowlands Golf Course.

 

      Paced by two players in the top four, Huntingdon College is in first place with a 294. Huntingdon's Jacob Collinsworth shot a 70 and is tied for first and teammate Alex Balog fired a one-under 71 and is tied for fourth.

 

      Guilford College, headed by Joseph Polin's 71, is in second with a 297. Host Greensboro College is third with a 301. Pride Senior Rocky Manning carded a 70 and joins Collinsworth and Lagrange's Bennett Maki in first place individually.

 

      Greensboro's USA South rival, Methodist College, one stroke behind Greensboro with a 302. The Monarchs are seeking their third straight Greensboro College Invitational title.

 

      Oglethorpe rounds out the top five. The Stormy Petrels recorded a 304.

 

      The event was delayed for more than two hours due to inclement weather, but all teams and individuals competed their rounds.
