GUILFORD TAKES 13-4 BASEBALL WIN AT PIEDMONT SUNDAY
Demorest, GA (2/12/06) -- Junior Logan Collier fanned a
career-high nine batters in seven shutout innings and Guilford pounded out 16
hits in the Quakers' 13-4 win at Piedmont Sunday. The victory gained a split of
the season-opening baseball series for both teams.
Ricky Sebolt and Ian Spector both three
hits and two runs batted in for the Quakers. Mike Chelenza had a two-run
single in Guilford's nine-run sixth inning. The Quakers had 10 consecutive
batters reach base in the frame.
Guilford opens its home season Wednesday (2/15) against visiting Averett at 2:15 p.m. on McBane Field.
