New Acquisitions

February 2 - October 24, 1994

Showcasing recent gifts to the Permanent Collection this exhibition included ancient Greek, Roman and Byzantine coins; a large figurative oil painting by Dick Mandell; a rich variety of prints including a selection by American artists from the 1940's; contemporary Polish engravings; two etchings by Salvador Dali; a litho/linocut by Visiting Instructor Bill Fick; a Japanese woodcut print; and a woodcut by a Quaker artist, Gerard Negelspach. A freestanding display case held four print portfolios with etchings by students and faculty at the Yale at Norfolk summer program. The work of a different artist included in the portfolios was shown each day.
