Stephen Hayes: Cash Crop
August 20- December 16, 2012
This mixed-media sculptural installation invites viewers to consider parallels between the historic Atlantic slave trade and the Third World sweatshops of today. As a visiting artist in September 2012, Hayes met with classes and student organizations to discuss his exhibition and also offered a plaster body-casting workshop. Stephen Hayes: Cash Crop is organized by the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture. Special thanks to Stephen Hayes and Mark Karelson of the Mason Murer Gallery, Atlanta, GA.
