Jerry Harrelson '72: Associate Vice President of Alumni Relations
Harrelson joined Guilford's staff after concluding his professional tenure in North Carolina higher education admissions work in 2002. He began working with the admissions staff at UNCG in 1973, and except for two years as director of admissions and records at Rockingham Community College, he worked at UNCG continuously until retiring from the UNC System. During his long tenure at the university, he contributed key leadership during the university's record-breaking enrollment.
He earned a degree in economics from Guilford and a master of education in guidance and higher education administration from UNCG in 1973. He has served on Guilford's National Alumni Advisory Board and Board of Visitors. He is a member of Guilford's President's Club and has been a co-chair of that group along with his wife, Melissa Thompson Harrelson '72 and have two daughters. Graham lives in Manhattan and is Manager of Marketing & Sales for the NFL. Avery lives in Arden, NC with her family, Bobby Jones and their son, Thompson Allen Jones (3) and is a professional organizer, http://simplyavery.blogspot.com/
