Class of 1988 - 20th Reunion

Dear classmates,
Every fall, Guilfordians return to Greensboro to celebrate Homecoming on our beautiful campus. It is a special time to reconnect with classmates, faculty, staff and even to meet new folks and current students in our extended Guilford family.
This November, (7-9) will be Homecoming and Family Weekend, and is a special year for our class. It’s been 20 years since we graduated together! We hope you will mark your calendar now so that you can join in the festivities!
Let us know if you have any ideas for the weekend by contacting Karrie Manson in the Alumni Office 336-316-2148 or email kopalesk@guilford.edu. The more the merrier as we make our plans and phone our friends. As soon as we hear from you, we can get you a list and you can help us start calling! We want to hear any and all ideas you have for an enjoyable weekend.
Here are a couple of details to make your planning easier:
- Homecoming hotel headquarters will be the downtown Marriott this year. If you haven’t been back to Greensboro in a while, you will enjoy being within walking distance to many restaurants, bars and shops. We have a block of rooms reserved through Oct. 15 for $99 so make your reservations early: Greensboro Downtown Marriott, 304 N. Green Street, 800-228-9290. If you wish to make your reservation online go to http://cwp.marriott.com/gsodt/guilford/ The Guilford code is: COMCOMA
- Fortunately, we have a new tool available to us that will make connections easier, as we get closer to our reunion. Go to Guilfordconnections.com and log in so that you can pull up the complete list of our classmates. There, you can post a note, put in a photo, and send emails to friends.
- Look for updates on the entire weekend schedule on the website. You can access this via Guilfordconnections.com or www.guilford.edu/alumni
- Highlights of the weekend include:
- Harvey Ljung/Quaker Club golf outing Friday
- Concert by Over the Rhine Friday evening
- Alumni brunch Saturday morning
- Quakers vs. Catholic football game
- Campus tours
- Departmental open houses
- By mid summer you will be able to register for all the events you are interested in either online, or by returning the form you will receive in the mail. Stay tuned.
Our hope is to see as many of you as possible November 7-9! Let’s make it a great weekend. Take a moment to consider making a gift to our college this year. Every dollar counts towards supporting the continuation of the caliber of educational experience that has been invaluable to so many of us through the years. Our goal is to have the highest possible participation rate from our class this year.
Come back! Support our alma mater with your presence and gifts. See what’s going on now, and remember what was so special about “then!”
