- we hope you experience that every time Guilford College enters into your daily life - whether it’s receiving news from the College, reading a fellow Guilfordian’s social media post or encountering a Guilford community member in person.
Every year, we look forward to the fall when we together are all called “home” again to Guilford’s beautiful campus. This year, we welcomed more than 500 alumni back during Homecoming Weekend Sept. 29 through October 2.
This year’s highlights included:
taking part in the Guilford College Bryan Series, with a talk by Michael Pollan, best selling author and sustainable food advocate
focusing our community thinking around food justice, sustainability and stewardship of resources culminating in the announcement of Guilford’s new major in Sustainable Food Systems
sharing a meal of Guilford’s own farm produce as well as other local food at our award-winning farm
Alumni Quake Talks covering topics such as winemaking, urban gardening, future farmers, farm stewardship and community engagement
showcasing the breadth and depth of impact that Guilfordians are having in the world in areas ranging from education to Quaker service, technology and information systems, business, art and activism, legal services and immigration and international and professional sports
Fellowship, food and live music under the trees
A football shutout of Catholic University, tailgating and “Quakerpalooza” - family friendly fun for all
In the world of higher education, we often refer to students and faculty as the lifeblood of an institution. At a place like Guilford, we can safely say that alumni are the College’s heart and soul. There is so much we can do together! That’s why Homecoming means so much. We need your continued light to illuminate the way toward Guilford’s future. Indeed, the future success of Guilford College and our students needs your light more than ever before. Thank you for coming home to Guilford.
