Application Instructions for Transfer Students

The Center for Continuing Education at Guilford College accepts transfer students with cumulative GPAs of at least 2.0 from four-year institutions and at least 2.5 from two-year or technical schools.

Requirements
Application
Adult students age 23 or older can apply either online or by completing and submitting a paper application. Note: A $25 processing fee is required for all paper application submissions.
Transcripts
As a service to our applicants, Guilford College will pay for and request transcripts from institutions within the United States. Complete a Transcript Request Form for each college you’ve attended and High School Transcript Request Form and mail the form(s) to the Center for Continuing Education. Your transcripts will be processed upon submission of your application. Schools will not release your transcripts without your signature. For all international transcripts, a World Education Services, Inc. evaluation is required. Please note we do not send for official transcripts during the three weeks prior to a semester.
Application Statement
An additional application statement (essay) or interview may also be requested after your transcripts have been reviewed. If you require a student visa, if English is not your native language or if you would like to be considered as a visiting or transient student, there are additional items required for admission. To request instructions, contact the Center for Continuing Education or call 336.316.2179.

Auditors

Adults who wish to pursue college-level work without receiving grades or college credit may enroll as auditors. These students do not need to complete the application form or furnish the credentials required of degree candidates. Auditors may register on a space-available basis by obtaining written permission from the instructor on a registration form on the first day of the course. To request instructions, contact the Center for Continuing Education or call 336.316.2179.
