Traditional Degree Programs

Our admission committee looks for qualities related to our core values, such as leadership, integrity, tolerance, and compassion. We strive to fill our close-knit community with individuals who display a yearning for knowledge, receptiveness to new ideas and experiences, and who possess the courage to express their opinions and listen to those who may differ.

The goal of our admission process isn’t to select only those individuals with the highest test scores or the most eloquent essays, but to determine the contribution each applicant could make to our world both during college and afterward. From the moment each new student arrives on campus, we fully commit ourselves to his or her development, growth, achievement, and success.

Why Guilford?

It’s often the things admissions materials don’t tell you that turn out to be the most important parts of college life. While it’s always best to visit campus and meet the people who make Guilford special, here are five things our graduates and students say are unique to the Guilford experience.
Tuition & Financial Aid

Many students are torn between wanting the kind of educational experience that small, private colleges, such as Guilford, offer and wondering how they can make it possible. Guilford is dedicated to removing the financial barriers to education and assisting students in every way possible to achieve their goals
Requirements

The greatest emphasis in the admission process is placed on an applicant’s four years of high school achievement, including whether the applicant chose to take Honors, Advanced Placement, and/or International Baccalaureate courses, if available. Because Guilford College is a writing intensive environment, an applicant’s preparation in this area is examined closely, as well.
