Notes to Fees

* Meal Plan Three is only available to students who are either living in Guilford College apartments or alternative housing.

** Discount given for balances settled by July 15th for the fall semester and December 15th for the spring semester.

*** The $183 fee pays for coverage for one academic year. For Guilford students who only need medical coverage for Spring 2009, the charge is estimated at $107.00, subject to change. International students pay $475 for a year's coverage and for those who only need coverage for Spring 2009,the charge is estimated at $278.00, subject to change and which includes a $50,000 major medical policy which is different from domestic coverage. All students involved in intercollegiate athletics are required to carry special athletic insurance and pay an additional premium of $200 (subject to change). The basic insurance fee can be waived by completing and returning the insurance waiver card at the bottom of the Payment Worksheet.

+ A Deposit in ESCROW is a deposit held by Guilford College to offset outstanding student charges while the student is enrolled. It is required of all NEW students prior to enrollment. When the student graduates or withdraws from Guilford, the Deposit in ESCROW is refunded less any outstanding charges.

Athletic Insurance (Required of all students participating in inter-collegiate athletics.) $170

If you enroll on less than a full-time basis, you should substitute $795 per credit hour for the above full-time tuition rate. Also, you will be charged $270 per credit hour for each credit over 18 per semester.

Reminder: Aid awarded from work-study programs or Federal Stafford loans should not be counted on for the purchase of books. Refunds on loans (if all other charges paid) take several days after registration and the first work-study checks are issued at the end of September (Fall term) and the end of January (Spring term). Students should arrive on campus with adequate funds to purchase their books.

TuitionPay/Academic Management Services

The AMS Interest-Free Monthly Payment Plan allows you to spread your tuition payments equally over 10 months, without interest or finance charges.

Paying monthly through current income and savings helps you limit borrowing and reduces the overall cost of education. The monthly payment plan is available to all families, regardless of financial need. The only cost is the annual enrollment fee of $80.00, which includes valuable Tuition Protection Coverage at no additional cost.
