Summer School Policies

Guilford College Summer School

Summer School is considered to be a third term and the same academic standards apply that exist during the regular academic year:

  • Students who were academically suspended from the college during the regular terms are not allowed to attend the Guilford College Summer School.
  • Students on Academic Probation will be suspended or dismissed if they earn a summer term GPA of below 2.0.
  • Successful completion of summer school work may lead to the removal of a student from academic probation.
  • Students who are not in academic difficulty may be placed on academic probation, or be subject to academic suspension or dismissal as a result of poor academic performance in the Guilford College Summer School.

Summer School at other Institutions

Students planning to attend summer school at institutions other than Guilford College need to obtain from the Registrar's Office the Request to Take Coursework at Another Institution form. Students need to complete this form, obtain appropriate signatures from departmental chairpersons, and then return the form to the Registrar's Office.

NOTE: Students must have at least a 2.0 GPA in order to transfer credits to Guilford.
