Related Course Work

Students are encouraged to pursue a double major. Additional courses in the humanities in other departments are also strongly encouraged, as is continued study of a foreign language.

NOTES:

  1. We encourage entering students to focus on fulfilling requirements in their first year.
  2. Become acquainted with the major by taking a 100 level course either semester or a 200 level course the second semester.
  3. Rel 203, 215, are not appropriate for students who have not completed English 102, HP would be preferable. 300 or 400 level courses are NOT appropriate for students who have not completed HP and some other humanities courses. Teacher's permission is required for non-majors.
  4. Religious Studies major enables students to acquire a deep and broad liberal arts education with a strong emphasis on clear and independent thought. The skills and knowledge fostered by the major prepare students specifically for graduate school, for teaching high school or college, or a career in the ministry or religious education. Students are prepared generally for any occupation that values independent thought, writing, speaking, and human interaction.
